Half and Full Day Tours around Portland in Skin-On-Frame Kayaks
Join us for a paddle in our own city’s beautiful waterways! We provide a skin-on-frame sea kayak and all the requisite gear, you just bring some comfortable clothes and a desire to spend time on the water!
Half-Day Ross Island Tour | 5 Miles | $55
This paddle is one of our favorites. It’s a two our jaunt beginning in the middle of the city and then disappearing into the beautiful and quiet wildlife areas around Ross Island and Oaks Bottom Park. We see Great Blue Herons, Beavers, Canada Goose, Green Herons, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles. It’s a leisurely paddle and a great chance to play in a skin-on-frame sea kayak. We also get up close and personal with the Marquham and Ross Island Bridges, and the OMSI submarine.

Half-Day Hayden Island Tour | 6 Miles | $60

Hayden is step up from Ross Island in terms of paddling both with and against currents! It’s more fun, and we have the option of stopping off at the kayak-friendly Island cafe dock when we’re done.
Full-Day Hayden Island Tour | 12 Miles | $75

For a really full day’s paddle, Hayden Island is the closest good long paddle. The western end of Hayden is a wildlife refuge, and we’ll see lots of large ships across the Columbia, as well as tons of Ospreys and Bald Eagles. Be prepared– we usually push against the current in one direction, and the twelve mile paddle is a long one. At the end we get a reprieve by stopping off at the Island Cafe.
Moonlight Paddle Ross Island Tour | 5 Miles | $60

If you’ve never kayaked at night before, then you are truly missing out! Starting from beneath the Hawthorne Bridge, we paddle under the city lights and they eventually transform into stars under the night sky. Beavers will be out, and Geese line the island’s shore. It’s quiet and beautiful on this leisurely sunset to nighttime paddle.

I had difficulty viewing the site in Safari on Linux, but apart from that loved the post!
