No more Expeditions

November 25th, 2011 by kiliii

For 2012 and beyond, Seawolf is no longer offering guided expeditions. Although it has been great fun and successful over the years, our energy is being refocused into kayak design and building workshops.

Kiliii says, “Unfortunately due to both the rising costs and the effort involved in marketing our expeditions, we’ve decided it’s best to close down our public kayak adventure program. Both Canada and Mexico also began asking for additional permits which have made it cost-prohibitive for our trips to the BC coast and Baja. But my enthusiasm for kayaking certainly hasn’t ceased, rather I am refocusing energy on kayak design and a new kayak due next summer.”

Kiliii, My name is Rod MacKinnon. I believe Brian Schulz mentioned my name to you regarding a paddling trip on the north coast of Labrador I and a local Inuit fellow named Noah Nochasak are planning for next summer. We’re looking for one or two people to join us (next summer) and after reading of your interests I thought you might be intrigued. I hear you will be in Siberia then, so perhaps another time. Noah and I will be trying to use traditional ways as much as possible, including hunting, fishing and gathering along the way. You should meet Noah. He started building skin on frame boats a few years ago; so far using nylon but will build one using seal skin next. Anyway, I look forward to meeting you someday. Rod
